Little Italy San Diego

Little Italy, San Diego, CA

The Basics

At 48 square blocks, Little Italy San Diego is the largest in the United States and is best seen on foot. The eclectic neighborhood’s charming sidewalk cafés and one-of-a-kind specialty stores are reasons enough to head to this district, with locals and visitors alike strolling the streets to get a feel for the mom-and-pop restaurants, art galleries, and retail shops that make the northwest end of downtown San Diego so famous. On Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm, the Little Italy Mercato Farmers’ Market draws crowds to its stalls offering fresh, California-grown produce, trendy foods, and crafts. Many visitors choose to eat and drink their way through this Old World slice of San Diego—a Little Italy food tour is a great way to explore the area.

San Diego Scenic Tour
This is a great way to glimpse the top city highlights in a short period of time. The sights are amazing and walking is minimal so a choice it thats a concern. The guide was very nice. Informative and funny. The goody bag with water and trail mix was a perfect thoughtful touch. My only suggestion is during covid to inform folks before purchase that the van does not have windows that open. I'm so glad we did this tour!

Great going to all the different locations. There was a good amount of time at each stop. I really thought it was too many people in one van, during the covid times. And the back row… we were way to stuffed in. Pretty much sitting on top of strangers.

San Diego Tour: Hop-on Hop-off Trolley
The tour is a great way to see the tourist sites in San Diego! Getting on and off the trolley is great - spend as much time as you like in one area. I would recommend riding it all the way around first, see what you want to do, then make your plans. It's a little corny (songs, singing along, jokes), but great history.

Anthony is a great guide getting us plenty of food and lots of variety! We learned some history about the area too. I would definitely do it again especially since they visit different restaurants!

San Diego Tour: Hop-on Hop-off Trolley
I am a long-time Carlsbad resident and took my out-of-town-visiting family on your tour. We are all travelers and have enjoyed the HOHO experience in multiple cities world wide. This was a great day given not only the weather/beauty of San Diego but also the clever repartee of your drivers and efficiency of your organization. Thanks very much!

Taste of Little Italy in San Diego
We loved all the food. Such a wide variety and plenty to eat. Anthony was the best host we’ve had on any tour. He’s very knowledgeable and knew everyone we bumped into. Loved the history tidbits he provided. Great job!
